I began birth work after the birth of my first son. I was planning a home water birth with a midwife, and at 42 weeks, in labor, I was transferred to the hospital and abandoned by my midwife. I quit my career as a police dispatcher, dropped out of the police academy and made it my life’s mission to make sure no woman that calls for me to serve her, feels alone and without choice in her birth space. I have been serving for 5 years, originally as a midwife’s assistant for 3 of those years, while I built my doula & birthkeeper career. Now I train other doulas, attend births full time, and take care of my babies, and absolutely adore what I was called to do.
My philosophy on birth is, it should be exactly what YOU want it to be, as it is your birth, not mine, and I will do everything in my power to give you the very best support, energy, and environment in order to get the birth you need and desire. I love to provide physical support with comfort measures and skills as needed, however, I am absolutely okay with being entirely hands off and just holding space for the beauty of birth.
I do not attend assisted births (hospital, birth center or home with a midwife) at this time, though I would and have attended in an emergency transfer. My primary focus is supporting unassisted & free birthers.
Thank you for considering me, I look forward to connecting with you and seeing if we are a good fit.
